Stir in the tomatoes, ketchup, cinnamon, cloves, brown sugar, kidney beans, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Bring to a simmer; reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 1 hour. Stir the chili occasionally, and add water if needed. Taste for seasoning and add salt and pepper, if needed, and hot sauce, if desired. You may also wish to add more brown sugar or chili powder according to your taste. Or, If You Prefer … If you want to make the chili in a slow cooker, follow step 1, and then add the cooked meat mixture, tomatoes, ketchup, cinnamon, cloves, brown sugar, kidney beans, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce (if using) to the slow cooker.
